Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL) stands as a proud symbol of India’s rich maritime legacy on the eastern seaboard. Rooted in the historic shipbuilding traditions of the Hooghly River, HCSL carries forward the pioneering legacy of Hooghly Dock and Port Engineers Limited (HDPEL), one of the earliest shipbuilders on India’s East Coast.

Under the leadership of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), HCSL has undergone modernization to become a state-of-the-art shipbuilding facility. As part of the Jal Marg Vikas Project, the yard has been upgraded to meet global standards.
